Raising Kids Today
Raising children today is a lot different than what our parents had to go through. I have raised 2 children, now grown. Each child is so unique, we raised them both the same but they are so much different in so many ways. Like our oldest,has a mind of her own, she has her own standards of doing things and is very tempramental. But is very likeable and loving in so many ways. Our youngest, was the most difficult to raise, he has always had to do it his way, you couldn't tell him different. He got mixed up with the wrong crowd and got into some trouble in his teen years. Trouble with friends, school, and authority. But he is now doing ok and has turned into a very responsible,caring, and a better person from all of it. Sometimes it means hitting rock bottom til they change. And he has grown up in so many ways and turned it all around. It's a miracle that he did it. We are so proud of our children and we are so proud of the way they have become. We just put our trust in the Lord and prayed, and he got us through it. Our son is now a decent and working person. I think no parent knows about raising good kids, there isn't a manual. You may teach each one the same thing, good skills, like going to church, staying away from certain kinds of people. But in the long run, you may have to just let go and hope for all the best. Sometimes your best may not be good enough, they have to learn a lot of times the hard way til they reach bottom before they see that is not the way to go. Parents learn lessons too along the way. Our parents didn't have to deal with a lot of what society is having to deal with today. But I believe that the old value system is just as good then as it is today. And we need to enforce those values and morals into our kids. This generation is going to be in charge of our government, and we are going to need very strong indivituals with good morals and values. |
